Heh, yeah that is a brass deflector. It's actually a Canadian C7 upper. Not 100% period correct, but I got a good deal on it. I may put on a proper A1 upper, if I find one for a reasonable price. |

Well I was just sayin'....
That IS an awesome looking kit you built up!!!
I think your kit is actualy betterthan having it all "original" because you (or someone else) can shoot it southpaw without having hot brass smackin' you and going down your shirt!
My Colt AR15A2 Sporter-II is all "A2" from the factory, except that it has an A1 slabside lower (VERY cool to have), and A1 rear sights... very strange hybrid, huh?

Hey Guys!
The shell deflector on those Colt 'A2' is an odd one. Like Tony, I too have a factory Colt 'AR-15A2 Sporter II' marked slab side, and A1/C7 upper with shell deflector. Weird, but I guess Colt was blowing through parts and could assemble them anyway they wanted to back then. Mine is from the late 80's. Called a 'Green Label' by collectors. |
