Yes, Remember that stormtrooper project I had a while ago?

Well, it's in the finishing stages.

I ended up sculpting first in clay, vacuum-forming, and then making plaster finals. I vacuum-formed those, and.......

I saved the shells as much as I could. I discovered this technique, from and old friend, the Trooper Master himself.

The key is, you spread a VERY thin layer of BONDO on the inside of the shell, to act as your IMPRESSION coat. Then, you layer up as much BONDO as you need to make the casting rigid enough to hold itself against the vacuum. These molds are HOLLOW, by the way, so they are light and easier to work with.

So, you get this:

Cap n' Back Hollow BONDO, Ears are solid BONDO. The little patches of red is Spot Putty.

I'm also working on the face:

Cool

That's my tip to you guys!

Thanks!

And another cool thing about the BONDO is that it doesn't degrade or shrink, it's polyester resin designed to fix car bodies! Very Happy Cool
