My very good friend Doug and I are on opposite sides of the fence about the use of propane tanks for vacuum formers. Despite my years of success, he is concerned with shrapnel from an implosion. Heeres a small vised of a tank imploding from excessive vacuum to show whay happens when a tank unloads.......

A metal tank failure won't hurt you, the worst it'll do is scare you. Now mind you I would not want to be any where near a glass bell jar if it failed. A brittle containment vessel fails in a much more dangerous way......... _________________ If someone has a gun and is trying to kill you,

I experienced the imploding drum when I was testing vacuum tanks. I hooked up my pump to an empty oil drum I had to see if would be up to the job of a holding tank and BOOM!!!!
