Hi,

I'm new to this forum and this will be my first post.

Although I like the StarWars movies, I'm not that hard a fan that I want to make my own trooper costume. Instead, I'm a tinkerer looking for ways to construct things. After playing around trying to melt and dissolve plastics in order to have some cheap construction materials, I decided that none of those techniques can measure up to vacuforming for what I have in mind.

So what do I have in mind ? I plan to build several robots and want to create their plastic covers by vacuforming some polystyrene sheets. I'm sure I can also build the base of the robot in the same way, and maybe even other components.

That's about it for my first post. I'll be on this forum for the next couple of days/weeks, probably asking stupid questions about things I'm stuck on.

Thanks to all of you for sharing your experience and views on this forum, most of the threads I read on this forum were really interesting!

the first robot will be one that mows my lawn, but I didn't start building it yet Smile

Belgium is as usual at this moment. We had a taste of summer in april(!) with temperatures between 27 and 30 degrees C, and right now everything looks like it's the middle of spring. Cloudy all day long, rain sometimes, ...

The perfect weather to do some projects inside ! Wink Although I would prefer some sun Razz
