good god. this thing is SWEET!
ok, i got the package this morning, and it canme in a fine UK beer box, and some grocery bags. it came with decals, screws, nuts, rivets, all trim, and the pieces.
i had it built in 10 mins. REALLY easy to put-together. painted on ears, chin, and mouth. LOOKS GREAT!
i stuffed foam in key places, and added the fans and headset, and i was done.
the whole thing is big. not nearly as big as the FX, but is big, because i've been used to looking at me without the helmet, or with a rubie's helmet on.
i'll bet you wanna see pics...
well i forgot...
just kidding!!!:
that's that!
i tried my hardest to match the paint to the decals... i think it looks nice. the overall look is sharp. i applaud the maker
i topcoated everything i painted with varnish, as the paint i used was acrylic.
i will try to get new pics of me in my ENTIRE suit ASAP. until then, COMMENTS ARE WELCOMED!
thanks guys for all the help! _________________ -Alex

Vast, vast improvement! Much nicer than that Rubies.
If Master Replicas would ever offer the affordable 'trooping' helmet, I'd be game for one, but after seeing yours, I'd like one of those too!
BTW, A foam star headliner is a good choice, and a chin strap to hold it down. FWIW.

i tried that, but whenever i put the helmet on, the strap would choke me. this called for more modification and work, which i didn't have enough material to do.
this thing is nice. WOW.
go for it, jim. it's a beautiful bucket. just look up stormtrooper helmet on www.ebay.co.uk , and find the one by "kaminoclone", (the cheapest, consequently), and be sure to request UPS / FedEx and a tracking number.
wow... wow...

got some new armor shots. best it's ever looked. the quality of the photos aren't too sharp, chefhawk, if you could make these sharper, that would be cool!
anywho, 501st-style again. any comments/constructive critisisim is welcomed:
good god. i'm skinny.
this is the one that's especially blurry. cheafhawk, since you fixed one of my other pics on this thread, could you try your hand at this too? i just need it sharper. MUCH.
i painted the screws white. looks better! but those cheek stripes look BAD at this angle!
that's that. like i said, any advise is welcome. i've already got some ideas:
1. calf muscle bulge
2. thigh "lips"
I LOVE IT!!!!!
thanks for helping me get this far, you guys! _________________ -Alex

yeah, are they, like 3/4" wide? the whole strip? if so, i can re-do these, just by putting tape side-by-side with a 3/4" gap.
you're right. it does look complete. _________________ -Alex

new armor mods:
i modded the calves, backplate, and biceps:
more muscle curvature.
closeup on muscle curves.
inner bicep curvature, and the addition of the "thumb-print"!
new backplate box. note: line at the bottom of mold indicates wher i am going to trim, just to give it a better look.
i also fixed the tube stripes:
LOVING IT!!
and i also did a quick mod on the neckpiece, and my skin tended to show:
(addition of vinyl disk)
i'm also working on the bottome of the thighs. i just need some bondo there, and i'll be done fast. then, i'll just need to vacuform the new molds, and i'll show you guys the results!
please, tell me what you think!
thank you.

WOW!
Thats looking great! Your armor is really looking the business. One thing I might add, and this is something I noticed about my own armor, is, the chest 'pecks' are, well, off a bit from the screen used ones. Close to the FX chest, but too flat. Since you are tweaking your other molds, It thought you might as well tweak that chest mold too!
Looking good!

oh boy...
that chest.....
i agree with you completely on that one. but i just don't have the inspiration. i mean, i'm looking at a a lot of time, here...
i have enough wood on the present chest molds to just grind it down to the shape i need. i'm just hoping i can get it right the first time around. i'm thinking i gotta bring the sides in a TINY bit, something i might be able to do just by bending the plastic, MAYBE.
alright. i think i'll do it. time to get some photos! _________________ -Alex
