I've being watching this thread as the rest of us, and I am still amazed on the CONSTANT (and needed) upgrades to molds, which for some other folks...pay attention for what this guy is doing (HINT). I still like the improvements over the calf pieces so far (the rounded shapes).
Two days ago, I was about to post a thread that wasn't meant for you (some stuff in between not properly meant or spelled), but namely as a constructive way, even though you're doing a lot of AWESOME progress with the original molds, but if you are into that right now....why not going to the REAL ANH original shape, as "TE" for short (not to disclose any names, due to.....well....you know why, PM me if you need answers to that), who has the most accurate ANH molds as of today (that I know of, though since I've heard about some other's, but I have to verify first).
Anyway, I am trying to find the accurate shape for the back of the knee in both the calf and thigh armor, since I've seen different shapes of a "finishing" and useful idea to prevent pinching (EDIT: I've seen different-shaped armor, due to prevent pinching, not necessarily ACCURATE though, but THAT'S what I am looking for. (compromising screen looks to usefull needs).
Another thing is both the shoulder armor AND the bicep pieces, which they look completely different from the FX kit to the SCREEN USED versions...or TE's version. Just something to let you know to work on....also on the back pieces. Just my suggestion to make the "most accurate" version now that you're into it....nothing else. I love your work and motivation....and that's where EVERYTHING starts.
Am I sounding like a DRILL SERGEANT in BASIC TRAINING or is it just me ?????..........maybe.........DROP DOWN AND GIVE ME 20, YOU SCUMBAG!!! (j/k) _________________ Robert

thanks all.
darthvader1,
love that post! i gotta say, i was just thinking today about modding my shoulders to have that little SWOOP, but then i thought, how accurate do i need to be, here? and then i looked at the TE and TM suits... "about THAT accurate would be nice." i thought to myself! so, by ALL means get those pics up for me. that would be MUCH appreciated! i'm working hard to get that ANH screen-accurate look.
anywho, more progress, and everything is installed and ready to... well probably be torn apart and modded again.
compare to TE chestplate:
i LOVE this chest!!!
old at right, new at left.
finished calf piece.
finished chest with flash.
without flash.
now for the TROOPER pics:
i believe that is all. post any comments, concerns or ideas you may have. i'm ready for any other mods. i can't think of any... _________________ -Alex

the thighs are next up on the list.
i also modified my frames a bit to allow a better air-tight seal to be obtained, so i can pull two thighs at once like i used to:
1/2" gap all the way around, the way it should be. _________________ -Alex

ok folks, finally have some photos of the pulled calves...
ive assembled the right calf at this point. you will see it with the right thigh to demostrate what both will look like on my legs. i think it turned out GREAT!
half way through with the thighs, have yet to get brad nails, but i think i will have to pull the set tonight to see if my frames worked out. i'm betting that it'll work well, due to the fact that the seal is the tightest it's ever gotten on the calves. i should be able to get the seal...
anyway, here are some pics of the calves. let me know on the calves. i'd like to be done with them. i think i am.......
more accurate, i love it!
enjoy. _________________ -Alex

here's more:
i'm a bit confused as to how the left knee plate turned out, but let's see if you guys can see it...
those new frames are REALLY helpful here:
oops, hehe....
oh well, i can still use these!
new calves:
notice the knee plate looks more like a continous part of the armor...
that should be all.
enjoy! let's see if you folks can see what i see about that knee plate.... _________________ -Alex

Nice job so far.
Now, curious question....what's that substance you've smeared all over the pieces? (the white "GLUE-LOOKING" substance, not the Bondo) _________________ Robert
