Hello,

I'm Doug in Alabama.

I have done some vacuum forming in years past and look forward to brushing up on the new techniques and materials.

I am a model builder (mostly hobby work) and form parts primarily toward that end.

I also do a good bit of resin casting.

Thanks,
Doug

Hello everybody,

I appreciate the nice welcome.

I moved several years ago and am in the process of getting my stuff rounded up and into working condition once again.

I'll get some pics up, well... one day.

I've been working in static scale models for many years and have recently become interested in larger scale radio control trucks. It seems that my little bit of vacuum forming knowlege should be quite helpful when it comes time for some larger components.

I'm also putting together a vacuum and pressure chamber in hopes of improving my resin castings. The smaller castings are fairly easily
de-bubbled (is that a word ?) but for larger items I think it will be time well spent.

On a technical note. I haven't been around the site enough yet so if this is a too often asked question or not appropriate for this thread let me know. I have experimented with female vacuum form molds and have had pretty good luck. What's the latest in that department?

Robert. I'm in Clay, just northeast of Birmingham. I know a little bit about Phenix City. I was at Auburn for a while.

What's your primary interest and how does vacuum forming fit in?

Thanks,
Doug
