I've been tinkering around with an old busted GIjOE six-wheel ATV, and have come to the realization I can recreate it as a vacuum form mold. This thread is here to detail it's construction.

Stay Tuned!

One of the things the guys on The Trenches wanted me to do was to offer a 2-seater version, so this is getting worked into the mold. Thats taking longer than just remaking the original.

Thanks. I hope so. It will be fun to try and make something like this. Who knows, maybe I can stretch it and make a 4 seater too!

Man, I used to have one of those yellow swamp buggies when I was a kid. Thought I'd died and gone to Heaven. Would still have it today if I didn't wind up with a... little brother. Shocked

HAHAHAHaha.......... OMG, I remember THOSE!!! I Always loved going to my friend's house becasue he always had the cool GI Joe stuff! Mom wouldn't let me have the things for some strange reason... maybe becasue they were expensive... dunno! But I ALWAYS had PLENTY of toy guns growing up.... realistic looking ones straight from the box at that!

I've worked up a set of hand rails, cast them only to find out the Costwold is offering injection molded versions! Oh, well. Time to get cracking on the wheels and main body.

I'm taking off next week and plan to spend much of that time working on this project!

Stay tuned!

Been some time since I updated this thread. Here are some updates:

Rear hand rails:

and the beginnings of the body shells:

And I'm working on the wheel molds now. Test casts are done, just trying to find the perfect casting material. So far expanding foam looks like the best option.
