I'll be forming the pieces in 1/16" HIPS. The idea is, to get a good solid mold down in plaster, then form the helmet parts in HIPS (the key will be to a get nice, TIGHT pull on all the pieces), and do a FINAL backfilling job. I will backfill the pulled HIPS with a solid yet flexible urithane or RTV rubber of some kind, so the pieces will release a bit easier, and will last longer.

Lots of little steps of backfilling, sculpting, resculpting, and backfilling again. I gotta get the helmet right. I'm doing the face in steps. As of right now I'm working on the region from the bottom of the tusks up to the bottom of the frown. (think MRCE helmet).
