A long time ago, not too far away, in my shop in fact, a friend and I tried to sculpt halo 3 marine armor by hand. I failed, he's still trying.
At the time I made a set of low-resolution models to use as a papercraft base for sculpting:

So I'm turning to almost full computer control.. I'm going to CNC foam and try using it as a buck for vacuum-forming.
Th first step is converting the low-detail papercraft models to fully smoothed models.
After the 3d set is updated, I'll need to cut them out, find a way to seal and strengthen them, and find a vacuum former to try them out. |

SO.. I finished this one up. Went to DragonCon. Was pretty fun.
Forgot to update this thread.
Totally forgot to post my work over here.
Halo 3 marines, from custom 3d files, CNC'd molds, and vacuum-formed plastic.
