To get this topic started, I thought I'd list the suppliers for sheet plastic that I have used:

For HIPS [HIS], ABS, and PETG sheets in I use www.professionalplastics.com

I have used other suppliers in the past to include:

http://www.piedmontplastics.com/default.asp

http://www.gepolymershapes.com/polyshapes/en/Home/Home/home.html

And I have even found ABS, 2-sides smooth in about .093 thickness from Sutterlands, a small hardware store!

http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/default.asp has sheet plastic, but these do not come is standard 4x8 foot sheets!

The supplier I use for sheet plastic is
http://www.multicraftplastics.com/

They are local for me so I dont know what they charge for shipping, but there prices are decent. I know Stomper is in the area so he could use as local dealer.

I,m ordering a 1000 lbs. of general purpose regrind .125 black haircell ABS from www.primexplastics.com The nearest factory to me is in Mesquite NV about a 300 mile round trip. Where I live thats considered local. On a 1000# order they will extrude to whatever width you want and cut to the length requested. No waste. A 1000# order of .125 black haircell ABS at 24x24 is 352 pcs. quoted at $1,229 , plus I have to pay NV sales tax. They will put it on a pallet and load it on my truck at the factory. All locations have an 800 number. I prefer person to person phone contact myself. I plan on using a 1000# in 3 to 4 months ,so for me its not that big of an order.................Fredo

I currently use these guys:
http://www.alro.com/DIVPlastics/plastic_location.htm
Good customer service & pricing but mostly in the midwest. Although, most of the stuff I get ships from Michigan or Florida.

Thanks jdougn, I'll check them out. I found usplastic.com not far from me in Lima, OH. and they are ok on prices. $8.25 for a 2'x4' of 0.020.

We use IPS - www.iplasticsupply.com in SoCal. They have dozens of materials, clear, white, black, etc. Foam PVC, Styrene, PETG (Clear), ABS, and more. Can buy online and get it quick. We have tried some of the others above with long lead times. Good on the phone too. 866-832-9315

I use Alro Plastics. They have a plant as far north as Michigan but I don't know if they will ship to Canada or if they have the ABS you're looking for.
Who have you contacted so far?

ive been looking for "abs sheet" this whole time. Perhaps my terminology is wrong as there are many places selling .010 abs "film" would this work for thermal forming or is it not rigid enough? L

Might be a good idea to start another thread where this can be discussed. ABS in .010" would be very thin for many applications.

I've found another supplier (by recommendation from another member, not sure if from here or somewhere else) of plastic while I was looking for PETG; McMaster-Carr, and they sell it by the CUT SHEET:

http://www.mcmaster.com/#petg-sheets/=cz4l1j

And they also have HIPS available (expanded or extruded; only in WHITE; and not cut to specific measured squares, though, but only 6' X 40"),

I've just ordered from them for my OCP POLICE HELMET project. I'll post how quick they shipped once I get the plastic at home in Alabama from San Diego.

I've got a question about professionalplastics.com. i want to start vacuum forming, and i'm working on building my own table. i haven't been able to find any stores nearby that sell the HIPS sheets. i found the professionalplastics.com site, but couldn't find out anything about shipping details. could you please let me know what sort of shipping charges and times the site has? thanks.

Stormtrooper1138 out.
