Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked (STICKER SHOCK)

That first one is set up to be mounted to the carry handle, it didn't mention anything about being able to mount on rails.

I'm a bit more partial to the design style of the Eotech "holo sights"... and the additional/optional magnifiers make that a modular, mission specific design that appeals to me a bit more. They also have a model with a bullet drop compensator reticle... VERY nice!! (it's ONLY $589!!... LOL) http://www.eotech-inc.com/product.php?id=8&cat=1

YOU have champagne tastes in optics, Jim!! Shocked Laughing

LOL Very Happy

The optics... not something I usually shoot with. I'm an 'open sights' kind of guy, but when I saw P-Dub's, Trijicon, I was blown away. Not sure I got the Trijicon model exact though, his IS mounted on a flat top rail. I remember it had a triangle in red.

Those Eotech's are pretty darn cool, and being able to add a magnifier to it is pretty slick. Plus they look cool to boot! I've shot a couple of guns with these Holo-sights. Cool things they are indeed.

I suppose I should mention some other scope options, like Aimpoint
http://www.optactical.com/aimpointcompm2.html

But none of these scopes/optics are cheap. I've been shooting non-scoped rifles for so long, it's hard for me to look at doing an M4, spending the money on that platform, and NOT look at some nice optics for it. I've seen some guys at the range take a nice M4-type carbine, and stick the cheapest Walmart scope they could find to put on it, and then fuss that the gun won't hit anything. LOL. There are a lot of affordable options, I'm sure, I just want to spend my money wisely, and not waste it on something like I did years agon on a crummy Chinese copy of a Colt scope some years ago.

Today marks the 12th week since I ordered that M4 upper from Del-Ton... their website is back to saying, "please allow a MINIMUM of 12-16 weeks for shipment..." from 8-12 weeks. Confused

So it could be shipped anytime onwards from this weekend to the middle of next month.... eh, what can you do? Laughing

My crystal ball tells me this week is the week that your upper comes in!

I can think positive, can't I? LOL.

Keep those fingers crossed! BTW, I sent my HBAR off, and Kurt told me 4-6 weeks, so I'm looking at late April or early May before I get mine finished. Sad

It says its still in processing... I posted on that link you provided, I'd wager it'll be about another month from what I'm reading. On a much cooler note, my concealed handgun license arrived last Friday... now I'm on the prowl for a sub-compact .45ACP (or variant) for easier concealed carry, I'm looking to trade my SS Mini-14 for something on the local forum here... since I NEVER use the thing. Wink

Cool! Are there lots of hoops to have to jump through for you Tony?

I've looked into getting a CHL [thats what we call it here in Texas, a Concealed Handgun License] cost is $125 for the permit, and about $85 for the course. The course takes a full day of book work and range time. I just have not had the time or money to do this. And... I work at a university, so that atmosphere is not too conducive to concealed carry.

Oh, well, one of these days. Are you wanting something like a Glock G36?

Not any hoops for me... no criminal/mental background, my military papers document that I have pistol training and that is it. The license is good for 4 years and costs $65.00

I'm looking very hard at the Springfield Armory XD sub-compact pistols... me likey!!

Ah, ha! Thats cool. It's done bit differently here in Texas. You either have to be a certified peace officer, OR go through the CHL class. No exemptions or considerations for former military service.

The CHL is good for 4 years initially, then has to be renewed and thats good for 5 years.

I'm not that familiar with the Springfield models, but I know the XDMs are nice!

Well to be honest, I don't think a CHL class requirement is a bad thing in the long run... it IS a serious responsibility, and you can't "take it back" if something tragic happens.
