hey there folks. same post as i put into the noobie section here.
i hesitate to ask when it is clear that all of you are seriously handy do-it-yourselfers, but i am looking for a used, reliable vacuum forming machine. either that, or looking for someone who has worked out the kinks in fabricating a machine who would be interested in putting one together, selling it to me and offering a bit of tech support.
i am working on a machine at the Rochester Institute of Technology at the moment, but will soon lose access to it and am only beginning to get started on a huge project.
i am using .060 styrene on a 24" x 24" bed and need to continue with this size for a bit. i will try to attach photos of some of the pulls i've gotten.
my molds are blown glass objects packed with plasticine. i leave some undercuts for the necessary detail that i am shooting for, because of this i repack the mould each time i do a pull. about an hours work before i can do another pull.
anyway, i really am in need of a machine or possibly the ability to rent time using a machine somewhere... 24" x 24"
please let me know any leads y'all might have..
thanks tons.

Matt, that is definitely some interesting art! The Build Stuff.com http://www.build-stuff.com there are plans for a ProtoForm machine that you could build. It should work well if you have the time & skill.

Can I ask what the design is or was that just something you tossed out to see if you pull. Very cleaver what ever it is. _________________ http://ByYourCommand.net |

Hey, NICE artwork! I have a 24" square frame with a 21.5" square platen, would that work for your needs? I live in Ohio, is the only thing, though. _________________ -Alex

hey, thanks for the offer. i was making parts for a chandelier that is going into an exhibition in a couple weeks.
i really needed time on machine and was able to get some things done back in May/June. once i wasn't able to use the machine at RIT anymore i changed course on the work i was making.
thanks a ton for letting me know about your machine, very much appreciated.
