I thought I'd post a few shots of the AK type rifles that I have added to my collection...
This WASR-10/63 started like this:
Evloved to this with an upgraded folding stock and refinished wood:
And settled into this with modern poly foregrips:
This next one (another WASR-10/63) I picked up in a trade and it was rather "ugly"...
It came with a buttstock from a PSL, and the orignal foregrips were absolutely ugly laminate ("plywood" looking) stuff, so I put the refinished ones from the first one on it before this photo:
I bought a Romanian surplus wooden stock-set for it that has the front "pistol grip"... I always thought they looked goofy, but its amazingly comfortable/natural to wield.
Now I just have to sand down and refinish that wooden furniture in a nice "Russian Red" color and this thing will be gorgeous. _________________ Tony Krewson

Nice! I too dig me some COM-BLOC hardware! I did up a couple of Romanian kits and a Yugo underfolder a few years ago when you could still get $50 kits. Wish I had gotten a bunch more kits from back then. |

Man, I haven't done a thing to refinish the wood on that second WASR-10 yet. I gotta get my arse in gear this winter and do some voodoo on it!
I hear you on "cheap AK's/kits". I had a NIB PolyTech AKS-762 Legend (with side-folding stock) that I bought for $250 from an FFL back around 1990-ish... about 5yrs. Later I sold it to my Brother in law for $500 because I had a nagging wife and I needed the money... That particular wife, like the rifle are gone...I still cry the blues over that rifle, it's worth around $1,200 today! _________________ Tony Krewson
