Hi all, looking for some help / advice.

I'm almost done my frame for my protoform style table. I did change the measurements slightly to suit my application, but I built a mockup to make sure all the angles worked on the carrier arms, big lever, short lever etc.

Now the carrier frame moves up fine, but one side is stickier than the other, and one carrier arm touches the bottom of the side frames before the other resulting on side of the carrier sitting 1/4" higher than the other side.

If I push down hard on the main lever it evens out, but of course I want to make sure it's hitting the platen evenly.

Is this because there's binding somewhere?

Maybe one arm is slightly longer than the other?

Hinge location off?

Any help would be great! Thanks!

Can you post some pictures so we can see where the trouble is?

I think I figured it out. The hinge point on one side is about 1/16" closer to the vertical frame than the other side. Its throwing the tension off.

I tried sanding down the sliders but I'll need to adjust the position of the hinge point.
