So, will the niachrome wiring have problems? |
not really sure. it will oxidize immediately on first use, but this just seems like a superficial, topical thing. The high nickel content probably will prevent it from being a big issue _________________ <.o'> |

Well, I am dusting off the spare parts and getting back to putting this machine together.
I will be ordering the niachrome wiring and standoffs tomorrow for starters and am looking at strip heaters for the holder frame since mine does not go inside the oven.
1. What controller would be best to handle and control the heating on two seperate heating elements?
After that I am back to getting the filters for the pump and the rest of the valves and fittings.
I still need to plumb in air lines for the rodless air cylinders that will drive the holder up and down and of course attach everything.
2. I saw where someone made an over under design where the platen rises up to meet the holder coming down from the oven. I wonder if this would be necessary from a 36 inch distance from oven to platen? _________________ Mattax

you may find you dont need a controller, so for now I would just keep the 2 circuits separate, and plug them in manually. _________________ <.o'> |

Reviving my old thread.
I finally dusted off my vac table parts and moved them to another shed which has more open space and better insulated.
I re-read the posts and realized that I may be better off remaking the oven box. I will have to figure out the dimensions to make it since the plastic holding frame is larger than the current box which will also need to fit within the 8020 upper framework.
I spent the entire day moving stuff around in order to get the vac tank and frame to fit in the second shed. First thing I need to do now is open the wall and install three circuits, one for the oven, one for the vac pump and one for the extra circuits for the push buttons.
Next will be to mount the frame and figure out the dimensions for the new oven box.
Where do I get the calcium silicate board? how long does it last? _________________ Mattax
