When ordering plastic, keep these things in mind.
Most supplies have the plastic sheets in 4 foot by 8 foot sections. This can be hard to ship rolled, and most will want to trim it down. Request they trim your plastic to your holding frame size. If you have a vac former scaled to a equally divisible size from 4x8, you wont have any scrap. Me, I have a 24x24 holding frame, so I get 8 pieces for every sheet of plastic I order.
Be sure to ask for 'Nominal' when having your plastic supplier trim your plastic. This tells the supplier, not to be too concerned that the width of the saw blade will reduce the size by 1/8th of an inch.
Order in bulk if you can afford it. You will save on shipping.
If you order different thicknesses, be sure to ID them. I use a marker and label everything, 6, 8, or 9 in the corner.

Just a side note, some suppliers won't cut the plastic for you... or if they do, it will cost extra and isn't worth the fee. That's been my experience with GE Polymershapes. _________________ -John |

Does the company you posted on the main site cut down the sheets by any chance?

indplastic.com appears to cut to different sizes free of charge. Like, you pick between 2 pcs of 12"x12" or 1 12"x24" and both are the same price. To bad the site is hard to navigate and figure out how to order from.. :/ |
