I am trying to rework my calf molds, and i just keep getting confused on the contour an such. my chest armor also seems a bit small, and the pecs need to be reworked. How did you do your armor? Do you have any advise for me?? _________________ -Alex

Hello!
Eyeball. I use my left one, the calibrated one. LOL
Here is a link that might help:
http://www.imperial-armor.com/armor2.html and download the scale drawings.
The rest is trial and measure.

I've got the main block down pat, it's just that when it comes to sanding down the molds (calves in particular) i get so confused, because it's sort of like a bent cone that is shaped to the human figure. In addition to this, the calves also flare out at the bottom! I just get soooooo confused and frustrated!
My chest mold is a bit small, or rather, the pecs are too small. The templates help out a lot ther, thanks!
I would love it if you posted a pic of your calf molds to give me a better 3D model of them. I would really appreciate it! (that is, if you don't mind...) _________________ -Alex

I got the pics taken but my card reader is acting up. As soon as I can get them transferred I'll post the pics of the leg molds.
Jim

Here are some pics that were requested of my leg molds:
http://www.tk560.com/ArmorMolds/ArmorMolds.html
You can see the MDF layers on the ends, and the spot putty needed to fill cracks etc. after some pretty hard use. |
