Well, its been a crazy past few weeks. First Hurricane Katrina brought a lot of evacuees to our area, and last week we had Hurricane Rita hit home, knocking out power, to much of the East Texas area. Houston, Beaumont, area folks evacuated to Nacogdoches! My electricity was out over 6 days, and we were glad to get it back on. I'm still getting my place back to normal, and a major clean up of debris is on tap for the weekend.

One good thing came from all the downed trees, and that is some interesting filming locations.

October is a busy month, but I wanted to let everyone know about a couple of events. On Oct. 29th there is the 'Scare on the Square' in downtown Nacogdoches. It starts at 6:00 and goes until 9:00PM. I plan to 'troop' down with my family. It's a lot of fun, and is a general 'Fall-Festival-type-street-vendor-selling,-family-friendly-atmosphere-Halloween-carnival'. There is a costume contest, and all sorts of activities for the family. Usually about an hour, and the kids get all the candy they can stand. I hope you can make it in costume for the "Scare on the Square" assuming the weather permits. It would be great if the troopers could be there in force! Let me know if you can attend, and we can meet at my place, get suited up, and hit the square in full Imperial force! That trooper armor make a really fun Halloween costume! I've scared the neighborhood kids for 3 years now, wearing my old suit.

The movie project is still progressing. I have edited the footage that Randy shot, and I'll try to get that on the site in a few days. I need to combine this footage with the material we already have. Also, we need to get together and do some armor weathering, and some studio photography. I guess we need to set a time for all this. Any suggestions?

I'm still working on the script, but right now my time is very short. I'll get an updated script posted as soon as I have more edits done.

The track & dolly camera mount is still in the works. I hope to have the dolly done in the next couple of weeks. This project keeps getting bumped, I know. Sorry.

Pablo, I have not sent any more clips for you to work your magic, let me know when you are ready for more!

Larry, has his art show at the East Texas Oil Museum, located in Kilgore, TX, so if you have a chance, go check it out! Larry, did you include the matte paintings in the show? Just kidding!

We need to set a time for our next film day. I'd like to shoot the cliff scene, and test the track and dolly. The final test footage, before we start principal photography. The weather I hope will start to cooperate over the next few weeks. The heat of the Summer should start to abate by the 15th. I hope, so think about a time we can get together to film. There is a time change coming, I think on Oct. 30, making an morning shoot even better. [Fall back 1 hour.]

Also, we have been invited to partake in a SFA football half-time show the first 2 weeks in November. Its a salute to Hollywood, and one of the songs the SFA band will perform is the Star Wars music. The idea, is for the Stormtroopers to escort the band director onto the field at half-time. Details to follow, but if you are interested, let me or Herb know. This sounds like a lot of fun.

Thats about all for now. Still in development is the X-wing costume, the X-wing crash debris set pieces, and the X-wing cockpit. Also the diagona trash compactor monster, and more Rebel Fleet Troopers. If you can donate any time, materials or funds to these projects just let me know. I can use all the help I can get. If you plan to wear the trooper armor for Halloween, be sure to get your black undersuit, and boots ASAP. Don't wait past Oct. 15 to test fit your armor!

Let me know if you need any thing!

Jim
