|
|
Well, it looks like I'm going to be making some Endor Commando Blasters not only for the fan film, but also as a favor to another group. I've decided to work up some of the parts base off junk I already have [like the pump shotgun handle, and the front sight] and build the rest off a cheap springer airsoft M16.
If anyone know of a good airsoft vendor selling decent quality M16/AR15/M4 guns that can easily be modded, let me know. Right now a carbine, with an extension stock seems like my best option. The stock needs to be removable leaving just the extension tube. Als, one that has a removable handguards is also desired, and I'd like to keep the cost per airsoft gun down under $30 shipped if I can.
I'll be making the scope assembly from resin based off a master pattern provided by JediDad, along with his front flash suppressor greebly. These will be cast in a black resin. The rest of the gun will be a combination of scratch built PVC barrel shrouds, and resin castings. The following is a diagram:
The blueprints are here:
http://www.studiocreations.com/howto/endorrebelsoldier/ers_endorblasterrifle_bp.html
or

I'd like to see who has opinions on the process for building this blaster. Seems pretty easy. If anyone has the stock greebly, or magazine greebly, let me know. Would save me some time making these parts.
Thanks

Hey Jim, at the gunshow this weekend, I'll keep an eye open for that shotgun forearm for you. |

Hey Jim. I got your pump handle. Hopefully it'll b what you were looking for. If not, then it's no big deal, at only $5. I can probably find a use whenever I finally replace my old 12 gauge I sold. |

Clint and I made some progress on the Endor Blaster. The Springer AR15 I'm using, even after major surgery, still shoots!
We're down to the scope assembly, fake magazine assembly, and the stock greebly mold master patterns to be made and once thats done it's off to the silicone!
Maybe by the end of next weekend, I'll have the prototype done.

Will do.
In addition, I've been given permission to inspect JediDad's blaster as a reference, so this should really help us get the details right. Just waiting on him to ship it out!

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
Tony, I know I said I had a CARE package heading your way, but I wanted to get these kit parts into the box before it went out. So, I'm a few days behind getting it in the post. Sorry.
Oh, and the unpainted one still shoots! |
