i was just wondering what the measurements of the F/X stormtrooper helmet are, preferably inches.

i'm looking for:

1. overall helmet width (from the outside of the left ear to the outer right ear), AND overall helmet length (from the backplate hump to the very front of the helmet)

2. dome depth, width, length, decals, etc. (essentially overall measurements)

3. ear dimensions (diameter of ear circle, length, width of the bottom of the ear)

that should do. i would like to know this information so that i can determine if an F/X bucket would look good on my shoulders! the width/length of the overall helmet should be enough to tell me if it'll look decent.

i'm looking at the relationship between the helmet width and the overall chest width. i've noticed that these sizes are equal to each other, and VERY RARELY the helmet wider than the chest:

http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/thumb/0/0d/Storm-CHRON.jpg/170px-Storm-CHRON.jpg
this is ROTJ, and if you notice, it's SLIGHTLY BIGGER than the top of the chest.

here, you can tell that the F/X helmet is pretty much the same size in proportion to the upper chest width. this also applies the GF armor/helmet, as the helmet and upper chest are the same width.

this is a set of RT armor, once again, helmet same size as upper chest.

so, what i hope to realize is that my upper chest is the same, or close to, the size of the width of an F/X helmet, justifying that it would go best with my armor, which would possibly be close to F/X armor, IF the helmet goes well with my suit. F/X would be best financially because it's cheap! and if it looks good with my armor (not like a bobble-head as jim has observed on the short and skinny Wink ), than that's even BETTER!

ok, that's all, thanks!

That to me looks like an rt mod on fx armor.

I urge you not to go for FX as they are incorrect in every way and weeks and months down the line you will want to upgrade.
Also as you are a slim build the oversized fx will swamp your armour.
I am allways looking on ebay for decent buckets as its a bit of obsession.

TrooperMaster (paul) does really nice helmets, pm him for a price.
They are worth saving for.

cheers

The FX helmets are nice. IF you don't want an accurate helmet. Most of the 501st troop with a FX helmet, mainly because thats the kit most of the 501st have. Fits people with large heads. If you are tall, it is ok, but thin or short, they look wrong. Very 'bobble-head' looking.

RT Mod, ABS80-Authentic Props, or a TE/TE2 would be you better approach, and from time to time, the RT Mod shows up on ebay at good prices.

I have an F/X helmet that I can measure for you.....but I would go with another bucket per everyone elses advise (seems that you are leaning that way anyhow)

I bought this one early on in my armor building and DEFINITELY should have researched it more and asked other peoples thoughts....but lesson learned....and it looks ok sitting next to 'voice changer Vader' and candy jar C-3PO

will do!

i asked him for some pictures of the kit i will recieve (when i order it), and he is working on it. i have a feeling i will not be disappointed! he says the faceplate a very faint flaw (mold crack, or something along those lines, can't remember). but even with that flaw, i'll bet i'll find out i should buy it!

i can't WAIT for those pics! Very Happy
