|

I am trying to create a vac mold for the stormtrooper helmet.
I looked at Israel Franco's Trooper Templates (in the "Imperial-Armor.Com Q&A" topic) and noticed that there were no measurements for the helmet.
Of course I could look at the proportions of the picture with the fully clothed stormtrooper but I don't think that it would be accurate enough. Does anyone know where I can find some general (or perhaps precise) measurements of the stormtrooper helmet? |

I'm still working on my helmet molds, so when I know I'll post these measurements. I have access to some pretty good helmets, but taking accurate readings is kind of hard. |

No problem. I sat down yesterday and started doing some 3D modelling. I took some Hi-res pictures from the movie and looked at the proportions. Then I implemented those into my CG program and voila! It worked out pretty nice. Now I have a proportional model of the Stormtrooper helmet.
Now I only have to get some kind of real measurement from the "original" helmet and plot that into my model. Then all the other measurements should change themselves proportionally to the real one. I hope the measurements at

are correct. |
