I finally picked up the ST Generations Collector's Edition DVD and really enjoyed the tribute to Matt Jefferies. I had forgotten that he had soley designed the orginal enterprise and most of the other ships and sets for TOS. And is rightfully credited with designing "the look" of Star Trek.
If you haven't seen this feature check it out soon.
I tried to look up books on Jefferies, I came across the TOS Sketchbook and the Making of Star Trek. Does anyone know of others? |

I don't recall any other books on Matt, other than the ones you listed. Sadly, a few years before he died, you could go on ebay and buy signed prints of some of his work, and even an original sketch or two by him. Cheap. After his death, most of those auctions went away. I think now the only time you see his original art is part of the live auctions they do from time to time with Christies.
Once upon a time, I missed a chance of getting an original sketch of a set used in the 'The Cloud Minders' by Matt Jefferies. Oh, well. At the time I did not have $300. Wish I had now. This was a year or so before he died. It was a beautiful piece of art. |
